Planet extracts from https://download.openstreetmap.fr/extracts/

I need some help with the actual state of the europe.osm.pbf file on download.openstreetmap.fr

The file is as of 2024-01-16 23:49 unlike most of the other extracts which are max. 1 day old

Next problem is that pyosmium-up-to-date fails for this extract.

I’m far from a technical expert, so I’m assuming you’ve already considered this, but wouldn’t downloading from the Geofabrik be an option? Geofabrik Download Server

The file is updated daily and the description explicitly mentions osmosis and osmium.

Sounds like a problem with that one extract - you’ll need to contact the OSM France people to fix that. They probably won’t read this forum.

To be a bit more explicit. They have their own here: https://forum.openstreetmap.fr/

I don’t know if that’s where they want people to report issues but they did answer me when I asked about CyclOSM a while back.

Edit: I should have reread that thread before posting this response, they do have an issue tracker for “infrastructure” here that appears for be for the services listed on this wiki page.

Yeah, and actually I tried (downloaded) the ‘europe’ extract this morning.
I can/will use that, but: the extract time is around 22:00 CEST. So the nightly analysis and reports (for europe) will be based on data from 22:00 CEST and not 2:00 AM CEST of the next day. Mappers will not see the result of their work during those 4 hours difference.
That’s a minor problem, I know.

That’s exatly what I was looking for, big Thanks!

Just for the records: I created this issue Download - some extracts are not up-to-date
