Equivalence between Mapillary and OSM

Hey guys,

I’m working on something that requires a conflation between OSM data and Mapillary identified objects (traffic signs etc). Before digging into it, I was wondering if someone already did something like that.

My idea is to grab data from OSM and Mapillary, combine both (excluding overlaps), and have a set of traffic signs and other stuff that I can work on. For that, I have to at least have a pair of tags between both data, such as:

regulatory--stop--g1 (Mapillary) ↔ highway=stop (OSM)

For instance, in my research I discovered:

The idea here is to not reinvent the wheel, so I appreciate if someone already did that (at least the tag comparison).

Thanks!

@matheusgomesms Thanks for referring to our work. It was great to connect with you. I’m sure your research will be super critical to show missing gaps between Mapillary generated data and OpenStreetMap. Looking forward for your results.

Doesn’t OSMOSE already do that?

It does a part, yes, as I stated in my second link. It appears Osmose focuses on maxspeed=* mainly (and some cycling infrastructure).

There are around 1500 different elements detected by Mapillary, and wondered if someone already did any equivalence between them and OSM.
