What is required to consider a tiger road reviewed?

What I’d really like to see is a bulk edit of rural highways using something like this . That would go further and faster to fix the problem than pretty much anything else. Generally I’m of the school of thought that bulk edits hinder the development of community, but when it’s been 17 years and there’s no sign of the problem getting sorted any time soon, I tend to think desperate measures are needed.

Happy to see there is still interest in this! I’ll dust off the project and see what’s left to be done this winter. Ultimately what I hope to see out of it is some sort of massive dataset of proposed surface=* tags, which if not imported into OSM can at least serve as a more useful heuristic for apps like cycle.travel, as well as interface with JOSM or Rapid to help human labelers out.
