to indicate the parking area.” I didn’t see you capitulating in that conversation about how there there’s no benefit to adding the names of bus networks to OpenStreetMap when no one is going to maintain them or whatever. So what’s so special about addresses compared to other types of data that you apparently zero issue with people adding?

I could be wrong, but the last time I checked people can’t add addresses or anything else, directly to Nominatim. I’m totally to look into that if you want to point me in the direction of how and where they can, but I don’t think if that’s an even option it necessarily means address shouldn’t be added to OpenStreetMap regardless. They aren’t mutually exclusive.
