All sugar coating aside, the whole issue exists only because StreetComplete deliberately chose to break with established tagging at the time and has used its army of minions to get its way.
I don’t have an issue with cycleway:both but with the precedent switching to it creates (and yes the same game has been played with iD on other occasions, but two wrongs don’t make a right).
