I would like to implore everyone to try and stay civil. This thread is a tool for communicating with the community like any other (DMs on the site, comments on changesets). It isn’t meant to be about naming and shaming other users for their contributions, but reaching community consensus.
@sheldonelectric when I thought your edits were being unfairly critiqued, I said as much.
When I found something else while editing that I figured was less than ideal, i brought it up here, rather than commenting on many of your changesets at once (you have replied to my one comment, i now see).
Obviously everyone doesn’t have time to comb through every changeset or every discussion in every medium, and that’s ok.
Generally my gripe is you err more on the side of deletion than retention than myself, but not to a fault (otherwise i obviously would have sytematically ran through your edits and reverted a bunch).
I also sometimes cull foreign language names, for example on dozens upon dozens of streets in Heraklion and Chania with name:de. It’s definitely an issue with contributors that do a little bit of mapping while on holiday. I’m sure other countries have similar problems, especially with a non-Latin script.
