If the above are true, than I wonder if we aren’t all wasting our time. Do we expect the Rapid devs to want this?

Internally supported. The editor’s maintainer must be in favor of having their editor included on the OpenStreetMap website.

Specifically for Rapid (the integration I originally asked about): in the meantime I spoke with the Rapid team and they’re happy to support with the actual integration work needed.
