What does the term “general purpose” imply? Must it support the creation of arbitrary relations? The deletion of objects? Would a POI editor where you can only add or modify nodes meet the criterion if the range of supported POI-types is wide enough? Or something like streetcomplete with guided predefined tasks?
Wouldn’t it be nice to potentially have editors optimized for specific tasks, e.g. a sophisticated opening hours editor, hiking routes editor or turn restrictions editor?
Similarly, does “general audience” imply it must work on several widespread operating systems? Would a linux only editor be considered aimed at a “broad general audience”? Or iOS only?
