Am I the only one who finds the usage of the layer tag for multiple signs a strange choice? For one, you’re losing the ability to distinguish between a main and an additional sign (maybe some people don’t really care about that), but also I’d have to map them in descending order, which is opposite to the order in which I’d “process” them when looking at the signs 
Well, the proposal isn’t final yet, so I’m just thinking out loud.
