Simple is in the eye of the beholder. For editor developers, this is as simple as making the opening hours syntax user-friendly. On this point, I agree with @yopaseopor that the mini-language with brackets is too limiting. It’s how mappers end up making up their own key-value syntax just to stuff everything into one tag value. It only happens to work for most Vienna Convention signs by coincidence (other than destination signs). I would have had little to say except a big thumbs up if the proposal had been limited to more or less the the idea of favoring the secondary keys over the mini-language.
