How would you tag left luggage/luggage storage?

1. Hotels that let their guests drop off luggage on the days they arrive or leave
2. Businesses (often hotels, but also shops etc) that offer luggage storage services as a side business for non-guests through a service like https://luggagehero.com/
3. Dedicated manned luggage storage shops
4. Automated luggage storage lockers (usually 24/7)

Imo we can completely ignore type 1. It’s similar to hotels that offer a toilet for their guests, we don’t map that separately either, it’s assumed that it exists.

I agree. Maybe there is a 5th version, public places that offer bag or luggage storage, sometimes for free, e.g. museums, libraries, train stations

I agree type 1 can be ignored, for other’s I think we currently have tags:

• amenity=left_luggage for manned amenities
• amenity=luggage_locker for unmanned amenities.

Common practice in tagging extra features of some other POI is to use left_luggage=yes or luggage_locker=yes. Then we can go with left_luggage:fee=* etc.

Back to your examples, I’d tag those with:

2. amenity=left_luggage - as a separate node OR left_luggage=yes
3. amenity=left_luggage
4. amenity=luggage_locker
