One of the things I really like about OSM is the fact that an excellent “ old fashioned “ map is not covered with tons of irritating commercial information. It is very easy to use google maps for that . Most people on the planet use google maps( where available)!and googling opening hours can be easily found on a website. It is useful to have some info. I mapped some shops for example in my village.
Using OSM to me is clearly an excellent alternative to GM which I use for street view retail hotel reviews etc
